Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book an appointment?

Please visit our booking page. You can book directly on our website or give us a call! If you have any questions before booking, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of our artists on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Email or text!

Do I need a consultation?

Consultations are only required for those who have done previous semi-permanent or permanent make up on their eyebrows. If you have previous work, please DO NOT book a semi-permanent procedure before your consultation, we will book the correct procedure at the studio after your consultation appointment. Please make sure you are booking your consultation with the artist you wish to do the procedure with. Consultations do have a cost, but the amount paid will be applied to the final procedure if you decide to book. You can book a consultation HERE.

A consultation is not required if you have no prior work and are certain you would like a semi-permanent procedure.

Are there any pre-care recommendations I should follow before my appointment?

Yes! Make sure to read all of the BEFORE and AFTER care instructions prior to your procedure. It Is extremely important to follow all of our suggestions to achieve long-lasting pigment retention and results.

What to expect from the procedure?

The semi-permanent makeup procedure can range from one to three hours. You and your artist will decide on the best technique, shape, and pigment to achieve your expected results and the most flattering look. A touch-up is scheduled on the day of your appointment for the following 4-6 weeks. The touch-up appointment will take about one to two hours. Best results are achieved with initial procedure plus the touch up.

How should I show up to the appointment?

If you are used to filling in your eyebrows with makeup, you are welcome to come in with makeup. We will remove your makeup prior to starting the process. We recommend you coming in for an Eyebrow Design two weeks prior to your appointment if you are used to waxing or threading your eyebrows. We cannot wax or thread the day of the microblading procedure, we only tweeze or use an eyebrow razor.

What to expect from the healing process?

Everyone heals differently! The stages of healing can be intimidating. Your brows will be dark, maybe darker than you would like at first. About 24-48 hours later you may start noticing some light scabbing and fading. Do not pick at your scabs! Once the scabs naturally fall off, the brows might look as if the pigment faded. Do not worry, after the first 4 weeks you will notice the pigment coming back to a natural color. Follow the Aftercare instructions for a smooth healing process, and please be patient!

How long does Microblading last?

Microblading can last between 9-18 months depending on how well you follow the aftercare instructions, but it also depends on your skin typw. We recommend an annual touch-up to keep the brows at their best!

Is the procedure painful?

Pain is very relative. We do use topical numbing cream before and during the procedure to keep the area numb. Most clients find our procedures to be painless. Some clients even say that threading hurts more!

Is Microblading and Tattoo the same?

Similar, but not the same! Instead of making a dark shade over the brows, microblading is when we hand draw individual, hair-like strokes that mimic your brow hairs with either a microblading pen or machine. These strokes are only lighly made on the top layer of the skin, whereas tattoo ink is darker and penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin- essentially lasting forever.

Do you offer patch tests for allergies?

Yes! Absolutely. You may book an appointment 2 weeks before your procedure to patch test the pigment on your skin. Please be aware that the eyebrow are is very sensitive, therefore minimal swelling, slight discomfort, and redness may occur for a few hours after the procedure. Our studio has never experienced an allergic reaction to any of the products used. Patch test cost is $50.

Who is not allowed to schedule a procedure?

Anyone under 18.
If you have diabetes or high blood pressure that is not under control.
– If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you have glaucoma or are taking blood thinning medications (e.g., aspirin, warfarin, heparin). If you are taking blood thinners, you can book, but be aware that this affects very negatively your pigment retention.
If you have skin diseases such as psoriasis or eczema.
If you have transmittable blood conditions like HIV or Hepatitis.
If you are taking any acne medication such as Accutane.
If you have skin cancer and are undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy, consult your doctor.
– If you have epilepsy.
– If you have a pacemaker or major heart problems.
If you have done Fillers or similar or chemical peeling 35-45 days before the procedure.

Will I bleed during a procedure?

Bleeding isn’t common, but when it does happen it is very subtle. Since we are working on a superficial layer of the skin, clients who are more prone to bleeding, or have taken blood thinners recently, may have a higher chance of bleeding. If this is your case, you may need more than 1 touch-up to gurantee proper pigment retention. There are steps you can take to minimize bleeding, please refer to the Precare and Aftercare section HERE.

I did my first procedure with another artist, can Gabi or her team do my touch-up?

No. We cannot do your touch-up if your first appointment was with an artist that does not work at Gabi Brows. We will consider this an initial procedure (prices and time frames). You MUST book a consultation before going any further. We will try our best to find the best technique to cover your original procedure. Please book your consultation HERE.

How do I achieve the perfect eyebrow shape?

Our face is not perfectly symmetrical, so one brow may be slightly different than the other. We will map your eyebrows to measure and create a shape to compliment your brow’s natural shape. After our client’s approval, we will remove the excess hair outside of the design.

Does semi-permanent makeup effect hair growth?

No! Microblading should not stop natural hair growth. It may however, stimulate hair growth. This boost in hair growth can help create a more natural and fuller look. We believe that as we create a fine cut on the skin, that it can stimulate collagen and hair growth to the area.

I have a semi-permanent makeup appointment scheduled but found out I am pregnant… what now?

We cannot do any semi-permanent procedures (microblading, powdered brows, eyeliner or blush lips) or BB Glow while you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
