Consultations
Consultations are only required for those who have done previous semi-permanent or permanent make up on their eyebrows. If you have previous work, please DO NOT book a semi-permanent procedure before your consultation, we will book the correct procedure at the studio after your consultation appointment.
Please make sure you are booking your consultation with the artist you wish to do the procedure with. Consultations do have a cost, but the amount paid will be applied to the final procedure if you decide to book.
1. No alcohol or caffeine 24 hours before procedure, these substances could make your skin more prone to bleeding, and bleeding does not help with pigment retention. 2. Avoid sun and tanning one week prior to procedure. 3. Avoid taking blood thinners such as Aspirin, Niacin, Fish Oil, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure. 4. No brow waxing one week before procedure. 5. No microdermabrasion or chemical peels one month before or after procedure. 6. No Botox or similar 30-45 days before or after procedure. 7. Discontinue Retin-A 4 weeks prior to appointment. 8. Do not use any skincare products that contain acids close to the eyebrow area 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks after your procedure.
Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
Please Note: If you are anemic you may want to take iron supplements (starting two weeks before your appointment) to minimize bleeding during the procedure.
Post Care Guidelines
1. Do not get your eyebrows wet for the first 48 hours, you can use plastic (saran wrap) to cover your brows during your showers. 2. In the first hour, pat the eyebrow area every 15 minutes with a clean tissue or cotton round to absorb any fluid, this will minimalize scabbing during healing process. 3. After the first 48 hours, wash the area GENTLY with antibacterial soap and cold water. 4. Apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor 2x/day (after the initial 48 hours) while your eyebrows are scabbing, or as otherwise advised by your artist. 5. It is very important that you stay out of the sun for at least 15 days and avoid any excess heat (this includes hot stoves, hair drying, sauna, jacuzzi, and hot showers). 6. We do not recommend working out for at least 7 days. Sweating can make you scab more and cause poor pigment retention. 7. Always wash your hands before touching the sensitive area. 8. Do not pick, rub or scratch the area during the healing process. 9. Do not use any makeup near the eyebrows during the healing/scabbing process. At least 15 days. 10. Always use sunscreen to protect your eyebrows, after they are completely healed. Wait a minimum of 30 days after the procedure.
Please Note: After care is very important. It is 50% of the work. If you don’t care for your brows during the healing process, more than one touch up may be needed and you could be unhappy with the results. You invested in this, so invest time on your after care as well!
